Sony VAIO E, F, L PC Line Up Comes with new CPUs & graphics

Sony has announced upgrades to its VAIO lineup of laptops. This update not only reveals new CPU options but also a few other enhancements.

The VAIO E Series laptops are getting most of the updates which include the slightly faster 2.66GHz Core i5 580M and 2.53GHz Core i5 460M processor options. You will also be getting a 2GHz Pentium dual-core option for those on a tighter budget.

The EA and EB models offer the option for Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics and 1080p displays. There will also be a purple color option available for all the E series laptops.

The 16.4-inch Vaio F’s existing GeForce GT 330M gets upgraded to the GeForce GT 425M for a better visual performance. A USB 3.0 connector port is also included.

Sony’s all-in-one 24-inch touchscreen VAIO L will be getting the option of a Blu-ray drive, 2TB hard drive, TV tuner, and 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad S. It’s also worth mentioning that Sony is offering a free full HD upgrade on all EB and EC laptops, plus the possibility of adding an AMD video card to the EA and EB.

Pricing of the devices varies depending on the trim level, but the L series with Blu-ray and 2TB will be coming with a price tag of $2,200. Sony has also teased a Signature Collection version of a PC next month, but hasn’t said which model that might be.
